In spring, 2001, Riley Silos was born. Soon, his parents, Ronnie and Alma, began taking him to music appreciation classes and surrounding him with instruments of all kinds. Music is an important part of their lives and they wanted to share it with their son.

Class after class, CD after CD--they loved the influence the music had on their young son, but quickly became discouraged by the available children's music.

After countless disappointing CD's and videos, they decided there had to be something better out there--something that didn't insult children or annoy parents.

Ronnie and Alma both had been singing in bands and recording music all their lives and knew the importance of music in a child's life, so they decided to do something about it--they would make their own.

"It was magic," recalls Ronnie, "when we recorded our first song it was the first time we weren't recording to impress a record label, our agent or manager or even trying to write things for mainstream public--the only one we were trying to impress, and inspire, was Riley--and he was only 6 months old."

"He loved it," recalls Alma, "he was walking and talking so early (9 months) mostly because he was trying to sing and dance whenever he heard music. Of course, when he heard our music he completely went nuts."

Song after song, they continued recording for their son. Riley was eating it up, even to the point of "singing" by 10 1/2 months. Amazed at Riley's progress and in love with the music, friends started bugging them to turn it into an album.

"And then an amazing thing happened," recalls Ronnie, "we realized that it wasn't just babies who were in love with our Rockin' Rhymes, it was toddlers, grade school kids, teens and even adults--all were asking for copies for themselves, confessing to singing along with it even when the babies weren't there--we knew we had a hit on our hands."

Almost a year to the day that Riley was born, Rocket Baby Records was formed.

Today, everyone involved with Rocket Baby Records has young children of their own (we call them "Quality Assurance") and everyone has a passion for music and its effect on children.
